Did I overstep?

My room mate and his gf got into a right drunk last night over dumb drunk stuff. At one point he pushed her (he's not a woman beater or anything) and she banged on my door saying she needed me to come out.

She was clearly freaked out and i did come out to make her feel safe, didnt really get involved though.

Uaven't talked to my room mate yet but im sure he will have something to say.. What yall think? Did i overstep by coming out?
