EMBARGOED RELEASE: DO NOT PUBLISH UNTIL 9/27/14
King of the Dot (KOTD), Canada's premier battle rap league, to take hiatus after six years.
KOTD, the battle rap institution that has seen rap legends such as Drake, Raekwon and Cannibus pass through its doors, is to take a sabbatical.
KOTD was noted for bringing the best rappers in the world to the stage in order to fight out their differences in lyrical form, and put on some of the most legendary events in Toronto's history.
League president Travis Fleetwood, known to the fans as "Organik", said the hiatus was a difficult decision to make.
"KOTD has been growing and growing for so many years now, we feel we've taken it as far as we can. Some of our premium events such as World Domination have had to be cancelled due to financial downturns, and we don't want to shortchange the fans by giving them less than 100%. As soon as we can put on events of the quality we're used to, KOTD will return, bigger and better than before".
