i think the stuffed animal one is best. just the little bit of childhood hope that the animal coming to life symbolizes, and then the hopes dashed. the growing pile outside her window as she throws each one out after the rape. she'll never get to be a child, and judging by her family she's got years more of this abuse to endure until she is old enough to protect herself. and by then it'll be far too late.

god, it gets worse the more i think about it.
